Connecting Bluesky

Link a Bluesky account for post analytics, Content Studio, and video posting.

Connecting Bluesky lets bluekona audit your posts, sync them into Content Studio, and publish approved posts and videos.

Connect it

  1. Open Connections

Go to Settings → Connections and press Connect on the Bluesky card.

  2. Enter your handle

Type your handle, like you.bsky.social or a custom domain such as brand.com. A profile link or a handle starting with @ works too. Accounts on a self-hosted server (PDS) are supported — bluekona finds your server from the handle.

  3. Authorise

You are sent to your account's own sign-in page. Approve access and you are returned with "Bluesky account connected."

Permissions requested

transition:genericPublish posts and videos you approve

Reading your posts and profile uses Bluesky's public API, so no extra permission is needed for audits.

What it unlocks

  • Bluesky audits — posts, likes, replies, reposts, quotes, and follower-based engagement.
  • Content Studio — your posts sync in alongside other platforms.
  • Distribution — publish approved posts from Content Studio, with links, mentions, and hashtags made clickable.
  • Video posting — publish MP4, MOV, or WEBM videos up to 100 MB and 3 minutes.

Limits to know

  • Posts are capped at 300 characters. Emoji and accented letters count as one character each.
  • Bluesky does not report views, reach, or impressions. Audits measure engagement against your follower count instead.

Troubleshooting

"We couldn't find that Bluesky account" Check the spelling of the handle. If you use a custom domain, make sure its DNS or .well-known verification is still in place on Bluesky.

"You signed in to a different Bluesky account" The account you approved does not match the handle you entered. Sign out of Bluesky in that browser, or enter the handle of the account you signed in with.

Disconnecting Disconnecting revokes bluekona's access on Bluesky and removes synced posts from Content Studio. Past audits stay in your workspace.
